    Basic Grammar:
  • Parts of Speech: Identify Nouns (person, place, thing), Verbs (actions), and Adjectives (descriptions).
  • “To Be” Verb: Master the verb “to be” (I am, you are, he is) as it’s used for identity, location, and feelings.

  • Practice Principle: Do not be afraid to make mistakes. Mistakes are how you learn. Use English every day, even for a short time, to build confidence.
  • Fluency and Confidence: The main goal is to reduce hesitation and make conversation feel more natural. This is achieved through extensive speaking practice in a low-pressure environment.

  • Pronunciation and Intonation: The course goes beyond just pronouncing words correctly. It teaches students about rhythm, stress, and intonation, which are crucial for sounding more natural and being easily understood.

  • Advanced Conversational Skills: Students learn to handle a wider range of situations, such as:

    • Expressing opinions, agreement, and disagreement.

    • Giving and asking for advice.

    • Telling stories and recounting events.

  • Refining Fluency and Naturalness: The focus shifts from general fluency to sounding more authentic. This involves mastering natural pauses, rhythm, and the use of fillers and discourse markers (e.g., “you know,” “like,” “on the other hand”) in appropriate contexts.

  • Pronunciation and Accent Neutralization: Students work on fine-tuning their pronunciation to reduce their native language’s influence (Mother Tongue Influence or MTI). This includes advanced work on vowel and consonant sounds, word stress, and linking sounds for smoother speech.

  • Advanced Idioms and Phrasal Verbs: The course introduces a much wider range of complex and nuanced idioms, colloquialisms, and multi-word phrasal verbs that are frequently used by native speakers. This allows students to understand and participate in more informal and culturally-specific conversations.
