Course Description

GUITAR

The guitar is a fretted musical instrument that typically has six strings. It is usually held flat against the player's body and played by strumming or plucking the strings with the dominant hand, while simultaneously pressing selected strings against frets with the fingers of the opposite hand.

CLASSICAL SINGING

Indian classical music is the classical music of the Indian subcontinent. It has two major traditions: the North Indian classical music known as Hindustani and the South Indian expression known as Carnatic.

WESTERN SINGING

All ancient civilizations entered historical times with a flourishing musical culture. That the earliest writers explained it in terms of legend and myth strongly suggests the remote beginnings of the art of sound.

KEYBOARD

A musical keyboard is the set of adjacent depressible levers or keys on a musical instrument. Keyboards typically contain keys for playing the twelve notes of the Western musical scale.

HARMONIUM

A harmonium, also called a "melodeon", "reed organ" or "pump organ", is a keyboard instrument that is a lot like an organ.

UKULELE

The ukulele is a musical instrument with four strings. It is also called the uke for short. Ukuleles are part of the guitar family of instruments

DHOLAK

The dholak is a two-headed hand drum, a folk percussion instrument. The instrument is about 45 cm in length and 27 cm in breadth and is widely used in qawwali, kirtan, lavani and bhangra.

Beginner

Practice playing notes, chords, and scales on your instrument. After you've mastered the concepts of notes, chords, and scales, learning how to produce these sounds with your instrument is the first step to learning how to play music

Intermediate

Feels pretty comfortable with their instrument and has at least a moderate internalization of the fundamentals as well as some proficiency in their preferred medium

Advance

Not only has a grasp of the fundamentals but has the experience to have applied them in ways that have become unique to them (they’ve put in the time necessary to have their own revelations and realizations with regards to making music with their instrument, thereby having a bit of their own sound.
